Home | Things To Do Where do we start? This page of the web site is very long due to all of the activities available both on and off Country Charm's 20 acre property. That is not to say that you have to participate in all or for that matter any, but I am sure there are activities that will interest everyone. There is always the favorite pastime while on vacation...Just Relax!! Come visit and enjoy our Gentle Island. Prince Edward Island has all the ingredients for the making of memorable vacations. Pristine natural red and white sand beaches, superb golf courses to challenge all levels, Seal Tours, Air tours, fantastic bike trails, birding, fishing, lighthouses, gorgeous vistas, kayaking, shopping, history & culture, quaint fishing villages and harbours, great seafood, friendly islanders, and many festivals and events. Staying with us has its advantages. We make sure all our guests see and do the things they like and have an interested in. We will spend as much time with you as you like, to help you plan your time on PEI. We will show you where to find the best beaches, and local beaches where you can find beach glass. We provide tide charts so you know when the best time is to visit the beach. We can suggest birding locations, restaurants, and help with reservations for dinner, seal tours, air tours, golf, and deep sea fishing. We can suggest the best touring routes, the must see beaches, and the must do experiences. Attending a Ceilidh (Kay-lee) is one of those experiences that you do not want to miss. Not sure what a Ceilidh is? Just Ask!! Click on the activity below for more information and its proximity to Country Charm B&B. Activities in Brown are under 15 minutes away or on the property. Activities in Violet are under 30 minutes away, and activities between 30 minutes and an hour are in Red
Beach Point Beach is the closest quality beach to Forest and Stream Cottages. Just 7-8 minutes away, Beach Point Beach is a terrific beach especially at low tide when many sandbars are exposed. Panmure Island - 20-25 minutes. This is a gorgeous beach and I would say that it is certainly in the top 8 beaches on the Island. It is a provincial park and is a supervised beach. Panmure is very picturesque. Its long white sand beach is outlined by large sand dunes. Panmure Island Lighthouse stands at the north end of the beach. The number one beach on the Island in our opinion is Basin Head Signing Sands. Just 50 minutes from Forest and Stream Cottages. Lots of stops on the 50 minute trip to experience other beaches and scenic vistas. The sand sings to you when you walk on this beach. Don't believe us? Well then, this beach is a must! Other beaches close to us that deserve merit are Northumberland Provincial Park Beach, Panting Beach, and Poverty Beach. There are a half dozen other beaches you will not find on any map. We keep some of these a secret just for our guests. You will most likely find yourself alone on these beaches to discover beach glass and many other treasures the beach has to offer. Greenwich National Park Beach is a must! The beach at the end of the Dunes Trail, about a 4 km hike, is breathtaking! A kilometer long floating boardwalk brings you face to face with rare 70 foot high parabolic sand dunes. Just over the dunes is a beach that disappears into the sunset. Eastern PEI boasts over 30 beaches including some of the top beaches on PEI. PEI is well known for its superb golf courses. Eastern PEI has 10 courses with a range to challenge any golfer including the legends of golf like Mike Wier, VJ Sign, Tom Watson and Jack Nickelson. Crowbush is rated in the top 10 and Brudenell in the top 40 in North America. Dunderave also falls into the top 100. Eagles View is a challenging 9 hole course not to be underestimated. Just 7 minutes away. Brudenell and Dunderave courses are intertwined along the Brudenell River. One has white sand traps while the other has red sand traps. Crowbush Cove is the cream of the crop and under an hour away. Six other courses dot the landscape between 30 to 45 minutes from Forest and Stream. Eastern PEI has many lighthouses keeping watch on the shores of our Island. A number of these lighthouses and range lights are not accessible but most have a vantage point where a photograph can be taken. Please respect private property when approaching some of these lighthouses. There are 5 lighthouses that are open to the public. Cape Bear Lighthouse. The first Canadian lighthouse to receive and pass on the distress signal from the sinking Titanic. Just 12 minutes away Wood Islands Lighthouse. Watches over the Wood Islands Ferry Terminal. Point Prim Lighthouse. PEI's oldest lighthouse.. Panmure Island Lighthouse. PEI's oldest wooden lighthouse. East Point Lighthouse. Where three tides collide. We have handheld GPS units and provide hidden cache details and a little training session on how to have some fun and see some unique sites in PEI.
