Things To Do

The beaches in Eastern Prince Edward Island are one of a kind. Each one has something unique to offer. Whether you are in the mood for a fun filled family day, a romantic walk along the singing sands, to explore the wonders of the ocean shores, or to sit back and relax while soaking up the hot sun, Eastern Prince Edward Island has a beach for every adventure.

Eastern Prince Edward Island’s spectacular golf courses offer fresh challenges for new or experienced golfers. Take pleasure in the breathtaking views mixed with the smell of the fresh cut greens, and you can’t help thinking this place is the “sweet spot”.

The fastest growing sport in North America is Bird Watching. There are many great birding locations to observe the exceedingly diverse species of Island birds. Our 20 acre property at Forest and Stream Cottages, Country Charm B&B is the perfect place for birding and whether you’re an early bird or a night owl we offer Birding Tours anytime.

Prince Edward Island hasn’t had a train pass on the railways since 1989, the tracks are gone but the memory of the railway lives on, creating new opportunities. Cycling and hiking on the path, now named the Confederation Trail, where trains once travelled is an amazing journey. The Confederation Trail spans the entire island and Forest and Stream Cottages boarders a piece of the Confederation Trail that runs from Murray Harbour, past Wood Islands and on to Iona. Kayaking is available for those who wish to explore the shoreline from the water. Available at Brudenell Park, 32Kms drive.

Enjoy a first-class day for zero cost by spending your day at one of Eastern Prince Edward Island’s lovely Provincial Parks. Many of the parks have their own beach to discover. You will also enjoy the National Park and beach, being the top beach in Prince Edward Island!

Part of Eastern Prince Edward Island’s heritage is fishing. To this day many Islander’s make their livelihood on a fishing vessel. You can visit all the fishing harbours and marinas to get a better understanding of this historic way of life, along with a picturesque view and the ocean breeze.

You can always count on a lighthouse to keep your ship from becoming beached up against the shore, or colliding with the cliffs of Eastern Prince Edward Island. Though, through time there have been new ways invented to keep your ship safe from harm, the lighthouses of Eastern Prince Edward Island have not been forgotten. Come relive history as you climb to the top of the brilliant lighthouses.

The Points East Coastal Drive is a scenic tour route that follows the coast in Eastern Prince Edward Island. At Forest and Stream Cottages, Country Charm B&B you are given a Points East Coastal Drive touring map of the 400km tour. This map shows 90 points of interest marked along the route.
